Calzone and Stromboli: What’s the Difference?
Calzone and stromboli are both hollowed out Italian pie s that contain a variety of ingredients. Both calzones and strombolis can be filled with many different types of cheeses, meats, vegetables, etc. The biggest difference between these two dishes is the shape in which they are served. A calzone is typically folded over to form a crescent shape while a stromboli is rolled into a cylindrical shape before being baked or fried.
